I really don’t have anything bad to say about this book! Eleanor is such an unusual (yet in my opinion ultimately endearing) main character for a book, and it gives a wonderful insight into the unique mind of a young woman struggling with loneliness and dealing with past trauma. It’s so funny at times, especially the descriptions of people’s reactions when the quirky protagonist speaks her mind openly. It deals with some really delicate and upsetting topics very well and very convincingly. I had really fallen in love with the characters by the end of the book and was sad to finish it! I love a book that can make you laugh as well as evoke some really deep emotions, and this did both. It was so refreshing to read a book with a main character that you don’t necessarily like at the start, and it gave such a wonderful insight into the mind and perceptions of someone living what to other people seems like a ‘fine’, normal life.
How dyslexia-friendly is it?
There are very few characters names to remember which is a big plus, the chapters are relatively short, and the font in this edition was nice and clear. I found the writing style very accessible too.
