Hercule Poirot is on a train travelling from Istanbul to Calais when a man approaches him and offers an extraordinary amount of money in exchange for his protection as he believes his life is in danger. Poirot does not trust the man, and declines his offer. Soon after, the man is found dead in his sleeping compartment, stabbed multiple times. As the train is stuck in snow, Poirot tries to work out whether the murderer is still on the train, and if so which passenger could have motive for such a vicious and passionate crime.

How dyslexia-friendly is it?

I felt a little bit lost and confused by the time I was halfway through the book because there felt like so many characters and I kept having to make notes about who they were so I didn’t forget. However, the ending ties everything up so well, and completely changed my mind about the book. It’s so satisfying and resolves every mystery! Although not the easiest book I’ve ever read, I did make it though and understood everything!
