This book is a re-imagining of the time when Agatha Christie disappeared for 11 days and never explained what happened. It is told from the perspective of Agatha’s husband’s mistress, who has a difficult past in Ireland. She narrates the story in the first person past tense, at times slightly omniscient, looking back over the events that happened. The book uses dual narratives to describe the time Nan (the mistress) grew up in Ireland, and the time when Agatha went missing. I really enjoyed the book overall, and did not guess the plot twist! As a big Agatha Christie fan, I thought that the way Agatha was portrayed in the book wasn’t in the most flattering light, because she seems a bit pathetic and it’s not how I imagined her being.

How accessible is it?

I thought it was really enjoyable to read, and there really weren’t that many characters to remember the names of. I liked the style of writing.
