This was such an enjoyable, funny, wholesome murder mystery told from the perspective of a young maid at a hotel who discovers a dead body whilst cleaning. I think fans of Eleanor Oliphant will enjoy this as it also has a quirky, loveable and memorable narrative voice. She is socially excluded from others and mocked for being a bit different, and often misunderstands or misinterprets situations or what people say. It’s heartbreaking seeing the way she is manipulated and unknowingly laughed at by others. I think the plot is original, gripping and develops really well, and the twist was fantastic - I didn’t guess it!

How accessible is it?

I read this book in two sittings, I think it is written really well and I didn’t find anything too challenging. I found it really easy to picture the characters and the setting.
