If you enjoy the Thursday Murder Club series or cosy crime fiction, I really recommend this book. It is about an eccentric woman in her 70s who goes for a naked swim one evening in the Thames, and hears a gunshot from her neighbours house. Later he is found dead, and she is certain that it is not a suicide. Soon after, another body is found, and it is clear to police that the two deaths must be linked somehow.

I think the story is really clever, it is satisfying and well-thought out. I did guess the ending before it was revealed, but only because I happened to have recently watched a TV series that has a similar explanation! I don’t think I would have guessed it if I hadn’t seen the series.

A very enjoyable book, likeable and memorable characters, lots of dogs & super cosy!

How accessible is it?

The story is told in the third person past tense, and switches the focus between different characters. This made it easier for me to keep track of characters, and although there are quite a few characters, I never forgot their names.
