This book features 3 different POVs spanning five centuries: a woman in the 1600s on trial for witchcraft, a young girl in the 1900s who is not understood by her family, and a woman in 2019 on the run from an abusive partner. Seemingly living very different lives in different times, but as the narrative jumps about between each of their stories, their lives gradually become woven together as the book progresses.

All women have a strong connection and fascination with nature, and face enormous injustice from the people around them and society. Although this book is empowering and beautiful, there were multiple moments where I felt genuinely disgusted and angry by some of the hideous situations that other people put them in. Please do check trigger warnings for this book as there are some quite graphic scenes.

I didn’t find the multiple POVs difficult to read - each narrative voice or story is very distinct and so I didn’t get confused. It’s written in a mix of third person and first person POV. If you find Multiple POVs difficult to read or follow, I recommend the audiobook because they had three different voice actors - one for each woman.
